Easter 2014

Easter this year was very low-key.  We didn't do a scavenger hunt and only did bare minimum on the candy and baskets.  We did, however, initiate a new tradition, of which I have zero pictures.  We made resurrection rolls.  We wrapped a large cinnamon and butter coated marshmallow with a refrigerator crescent roll and baked it.  When they were done, the marshmallow had melted, leaving the roll hollow in the middle (and tasty too).  This represents the empty tomb.  The butter was the embalming and the cinnamon the spices.  I really liked this tradition and think that we will do it every year.

I made the girls their dresses and made skirts for Margrethe and me, although I didn't get a picture of the whole family.  The boys all got matching blue ties too.  Hopefully next year I will remember to get a picture of it.  Happy Easter!

Final Band Concert 2014

Westley started band in fourth grade and continued with it this year. The sad thing about this year is that we are being re-boundaried to another school, so he won't be able to participate in band with these kids next year. This was his final concert for the year.

Westley with his friend Max who plays the saxophone.  We have carpooled to band with Max for the last two years.  Max will stay at Silver Crest.

Westley and Easton.  Easton actually lives in the area that will be going to Foothills, but he is a sixth grader, so he will be moving on to middle school.

Westley and Izzie.  Izzie will be going to Herriman Elementary next year thanks to the boundary change.  She may still participate in Silver Crest's band though, since I know Herriman doesn't have band.  Maybe Westley will see her in middle school.

Annmarie's Cuteness

Just a few pictures of how cute Annmarie is at 13 months old.  She loves to be outside and even enjoys swinging (some of the kids hated swings at this age).  Her first experience eating a chocolate-covered vanilla ice cream bar and she is loving it.  And the last picture of her waiting for her turn in the tub...I had to take a picture of those chunky little thighs!

A Day at the Museum(s)

During the kids' break from school, we went down to Provo so they could visit some of the free museums on BYU campus. We visited the Museum of Art first with Allison and Sammie (the others were at school). Then after we left the MOA, we went to the Natural History Museum on BYU Campus. The kids really enjoyed that museum. We need to work on our art museum etiquette though, so more museum visits will be in order so they can practice.
