Travis Playing Football

The SRO at Cooper Junior High likes to take pictures at the sporting events and post them to his Facebook page.  He got a few with Travis in them so I stole them to use as record of him playing for this blog and my blog book.  Travis has been enjoying playing football this year.  Hopefully he'll be able to keep up with it through senior year of high school.

Annmarie and Band Boys

Annmarie had an assignment for school to have a teddy bear with her for a week and take pictures of her doing different things with him.  We don't do a whole lot during the week because I'm so busy teaching piano lessons, but she went upstairs and played school with the bear and we made homemade ice cream with the bear too.

Corey was able to get a decent picture of the boys at the last football game when he picked them up.  I had left early with Jonah because he was whining about being tired and wanting to leave.

Travis is THIRTEEN!!

Well, we have ANOTHER teenager in the house! Travis turned 13! I made him a hamburger cake for his birthday. He thought it was a really fun cake and I had fun making it.  He is growing up way too fast!

Random Family Fun

Over the last weekend, we used our POGO passes and went to a KidMania play area.  The older kids were  not really into it and it was kind of lame for older kids, but there were video games on one level that I paid $5 for them to do.  I just want to get out of the house, which was the reason I bought the POGO passes in the first place.  I don't know if we'll do them another year.  We'll see.

Jonah is my climber and here he is scaling the outside wall of the house by the garage.  He's a regular Spider-man!

Another Home Game

We had another home football game and this time I tried to get pictures of the boys in their uniforms.  Unfortunately, the lighting was not working in my favor.  Hopefully, I can try to catch them both again and get a better picture.

Crazy Hair Day

This year I'm trying harder to be involved with what the kids are doing at school so when the first crazy hair day came up, I helped them make their hair crazy.  We used mermaid chalk in Jonah's hair to color it crazy and we spiked it (as much as I could anyway) also.  For Annmarie's, we put a bunch of bows in her hair all over.  I'm not much more creative than that with crazy hair, I'm afraid.

More Fun Stuff for September

Wednesday the 11th was the first Wylie Way Day of the year, and the kids were supposed to dress up like cowboys.  The most I could do was some cowboy boots and a vest for Jonah and cowboy boots and a Texas shirt with hair in braids for Annmarie.

We had our first varsity home game.  I will never get tired of going to high school football games.  I especially enjoy having two boys in the band this year.

The kids played volleyball for church.  Most of the time, Travis and Eliza were the only ones representing from our family, but Westley and Caleb both made it to at least one game.  Westley is mostly just too busy and Caleb has no interest, but we keep encouraging him to branch out and try new things.

First Week of September

Nathan is now tall enough to get his own drink from the fridge door.  He loves his independence!

Travis had his first football game.  He plays outside receiver and I don't know what else.  Guess I'm not as well-rehearsed on football positions as I thought I was.

Jonah and Annmarie now ride their bikes to school after we worked with Annmarie to get her riding her bike independently.  I love that they can now do this!  I'd much rather have them on bikes than on foot--they get home so much faster and I feel it's safer.

Jonah wanted an ice cream cone, so I obliged.  I like having ice cream and cones on hand for special treats.
