All Other Things December

For my birthday, Caleb took me bowling.I also took Jonah over the Christmas break to see the new Spider-man movie.  As family, we went to Medieval Times, which was really fun. 

 

Christmas 2021

We had a fun Christmas. Westley came home and started working right away at In-N-Out. We got together with cousins to make and decorate sugar cookies. Everyone got a box of peppermint crunch junior mints in their stockings, which was a shout out to Bishop Shumard who apparently really loves them.  We had our usual chicken nugget and applesauce meal for lunch.  And Christmas Day was so warm (high 80s) that we went swimming!

 

Westley at Snow

Westley finished his first semester at Snow College. He met Ruthie, he learned a lot about living on his own, and he had a successful semester. He spent time with his cousins in Provo a few times (Hannah and Christine). He had some adventures that helped him grow. He will be coming home to work while he gets ready for his mission. Ruthie is going on a mission also. He really had a great first term and looks forward to going back after his mission. And we'll be glad to have him home! 

 

Travis Wrestles

Travis decided to try wrestling as a freshman and he finds he enjoys it. He had a big wrestling tournament right at the start of Christmas break that Wylie High hosted. Cored and Jonah got to volunteer as helpers at the tournament and they seemed to like that as well. Here's to a hopefully good season for him!

 

Elementary School Christmas Fun

The elementary school did some fun activities with Polar Express and the Grinch. I snagged these pictures from the elementary school Facebook page. I didn't actually go to these events.

 

Concerts, concerts, concerts!

December is always full of concerts. Eliza had her choir concert for junior high and Caleb had his band concert the same week. Both concerts were great. Holiday concerts always are!

 

Feast of Carols

They thankfully brought back Feast of Carols, the annual stake choir and orchestra concert. Eliza and Travis and I all sang in the adult choir.  Annmarie was in the children's chorus, and Caleb was in the orchestra playing the trombone, but I didn't get any pictures of anyone but my section in the choir, which Eliza was in with me (second sopranos).  also pictured: 1st pic: Kate Reese, Sachse ward, 2nd pic: Jen Whetten, our ward, Korrin Reese, Wylie 1st, and Kate Reese and Ellie Smith, Sachse

 

In-N-Out Christmas Party at DISNEY

Corey and I went to the In-N-Out Christmas party. Normally, they do it by region and we have ours in Dallas. But this year they had everyone come to Southern California, like they used to do, and held it at Disneyland. We got to stay in the Disneyland Hotel right next to the park and we also got tickets into the Star Wars part of the park, which was really cool. It was a great trip and I'm glad we got to go!
