Nathan is now six years old! We celebrated his birthday on the 27th because we had other things going on the 28th and there is no 29th this year. He is addicted to Minecraft currently, so we made him an awesome Minecraft cake. Corey made the fondant and did most of the decorating. We made a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting from scratch. The fondant was also made from scratch, it was marshmallow fondant, which was really good. This boy is growing up and I can't believe our baby is six years old!

LDS Prom "Mormon Prom"
Several of the stakes here in North Texas held a combined prom for the LDS kids this weekend. Caleb surprised us by asking a date and going to the dance. He took Whitney Adams from the Wylie 3rd ward. Apparently, they're kind of dating. She seems very nice and it appears they had a good time. Being a boy mom, I don't get to see the girls get picked up. I have to rely on other parents to send me pictures. I was able to get her mom's phone number and she texted me these pictures.

The Book of Dog
Eliza decided to take theater this year as her extra elective besides choir. She has really enjoyed it. She made the school play, "The Book of Dog" and has been rehearsing for that for several months. The play was really good and we all enjoyed it, even the little ones. She really loves to perform.

Last Time Cheering at Basketball
Eliza had her last time cheering at basketball, which actually will probably be her last time cheering every unless she does it in high school. It's been fun watching her cheer. I do wish they did more with basketball though. We did a ton while cheering for basketball when I was growing up, cheering at all boys and girls games, home and away. She has only cheered at a few basketball games. We also had a ton of basketball cheers and there was always a ton of energy at basketball games. It's definitely not that way in Texas.

Kickoff Dinner 2022
Corey and I got to leave the icy arctic blast behind and head to California for the In-N-Out Kickoff Dinner. This year Corey had earned the 100% trip so we got to go up on stage and claim the award. We are going to Mexico! The dinner was right near the beach and we enjoyed some time in warmer weather. We were some of the only Texas people to make it out of Texas before they canceled flights in and out of Texas that day. And it warmed up in time for our flight to make it back.

February Freeze 2022
We had another few days of no school because of freezing temperatures, snowy conditions, and icy roads. It seems like it's becoming an annual event every February the first or second week. This year we didn't have the power out for several days though, so it was a little better. Corey even went in to work.

120th Day of School
We had challenged the kids to do their Come Follow Me reading in the mornings before school and I was able to catch a picture of Nathan and Annmarie reading it together.
Kindergarten reached their 120th day of school so they had to dress up like they were in their 100s. Nathan looked so cute as an old man.
