Annmarie had her last pep rally of the school year for the last game of basketball season while Corey and I were in San Antonio. Fortunately, Stefanie Zeltner was there and able to get pictures. I asked her to send me any she might take of Annmarie and she did!

Cheer at Basketball

January Busy-ness
Annmarie has been cheering at basketball and enjoying it. She has been doing more stunts and it's been a lot of fun for her. Nathan was recognized in the January Gator Groove as being on the AB Honor Roll. He missed the cut-off for A honor Roll by one grade in one subject, an 89 in RLA. He was a bit disappointed in his performance and wants to do better next term. Annmarie also had a cheer "Show-off" in January. This is where the cheerleaders from all the schools in Wylie ISD perform their best work. This included all three junior highs: Cooper, McMillan, and Burnett, as well as Wylie High and Wylie East. Corey and I discovered while watching "Father of the Bride" that we are now older than Steve Martin and Diane Keaton were when they made the movie! I still think they look older than us. I got my hair cut during the week. I do prefer to wear my hair short. And Caleb let us know that he has a new girlfriend, a girl named Mechaella Montecillo (Mica) who is from the Phillippines.

More Cheerleading Fun
These photos are from the football games through the whole month of October. Annmarie gets to stunt a lot and she tumbles. Cheering has been fun for her.

Stefanie Zeltner, a lady in our ward whose daughter is on Annmarie's squad, takes pictures and she came to one of the games and took some great pictures.

Homecoming Week
It's Homecoming week in Wylie Texas, which means the Homecoming Parade! This year, Annmarie marched in the parade with the Cooper cheerleaders. Jonah got to go in the parade with That Wylie Band. Eliza walked with Black Box Theatre and even our cousin Nozomi was in it with Wylie Drill Team. Eliza was asked to Homecoming Dance by a boy named Parker in Wylie 3rd ward.
On the Friday of the game is when the kids wear their mums or garters to school. Eliza did not do the mum/garter exchange with her date, as the whole date was kind of last minute--originally it was going to be just a group, but then they decided to go as dates. I ordered her a senior mum, which is all white and silver.

First Week of September Follies
Annmarie started her cheerleading for football season the first week of September. She really loves cheering at the games. Jonah had his first home football game. He was supposed to play the week before at JJ Pearce but the game got canceled after being lightning delayed for a long time. We had even driven over to JJ Pearce to watch him play. Then, on Friday night, we had our first home football game of the season (we played Pearce the week before at Mustang-Eagle Stadium--where Jonah performed with the band and we sat on the Pearce side to watch him march). But, the game got lightning delayed over and over again so we ended up leaving the game and going home before it ended. They also released the band. Right before that game, I hit my foot really hard on the coffee table and ended up with a broken toe.
Travis also found out that he was not going to be reporting to the Johannesberg MTC on September 3rd as he was originally told but ended up starting Home MTC on Monday, September 1st with the report date of September 10th to the Provo MTC.
