Wylie High School Prom

Caleb decided to go to the Wylie High School prom also (having already attended the church prom in February).  He asked Eleanor Goode, who is in our ward.  Travis took his girlfriend Gizelle.  She did not go to pictures or dinner so she isn't pictured here.  I had to snag most of the pictures of Caleb and Eleanor from her mom's Facebook page.  That's what it's like being the boy mom.  So they probably aren't very good quality.  The other kids in the group were Travis and his girlfriend, Bradley Fastnaught and Alora Loveless, and Anderson Schilpp and Thianna Perdomo.

We hosted the dinner at our house.  We made chicken cordon bleu with pasta, had a salad course and cheesecake for dessert.  Jonah, Annmarie and Nathan were the servers.  I also made the corsages for the girls out of silk flowers and enjoyed doing that.

Caleb's Mission Call

Caleb received his mission call almost exactly one year after Westley started Home MTC. He had people over while he opened it, all the family who live here and ward members, including his entire priests quorum, a few of whom have also received mission calls in the last few weeks.

He is going to Columbus Ohio, English speaking, starting home MTC on August 21st and entering the Provo MTC on August 30th.  We are so excited for him to go and he is so ready.  Now he just needs to graduate from high school.

Louisiana Gymnastics Meet

Jonah had his final regional gymnstics meet in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We drove down, leaving Caleb, Travis and Eliza at home because they had other obligations. While in Baton Rouge, we discovered there is a temple there, so we made sure to stop by and take some pictures. We went to church there and then had the meet afterward. Church there was really great. I love visiting these smaller wards and branches. The only thing is that they get so disappointed when they find out you are only visiting and not moving there. Wouldn't that be something, to live there instead?

Jonah had a good meet.  There was more competition because this meet expanded who he was competing against, so it was a little tougher.  He still came away with some medals and placing in the top 3.  He was 3rd on P bars (10.4), 2nd on Floor (10.75), and 4th All Around (59.7).  Coach Ross Pruit has been a good coach for him.  He was at this meet by himself due to the divisions of the age brackets.

Easter 2023

Easter this year was different.  It is the first time without everyone, since Westley is gone on his mission.  We dyed Easter eggs the night before and Maggie came over.  Travis was at work.  We did the usual jelly bean hunt in the morning and had our Resurrection rolls, which I did not take a picture of.  This is also the first year since Eliza was a baby that we did not have matching dresses/skirts and ties.  I did buy coordinating ties, but the dresses were storebought, just a new spring dress.  Last year, Eliza didn't really like how the dress I made fit, and I decided it was too much work for that, so it is easier to buy dresses.  It also costs about the same, possibly even less, to buy dresses than to make them.  But I'm happy with the dresses that I got for us.

Baseball Fun

Corey is coaching Nathan's team, the Red Sox, this spring. He seems to be enjoying it and it is really keeping him (and us) busy. Nathan likes having his dad as the coach. He has some pretty good supportive assistant coaches, which has been nice. Nathan is pictured here playing catcher.
