Sick Kid and Halloween

Annmarie woke up not feeling well on Friday morning the day after her fourth grade track meet. We went to the doctor and she tested positive for strep. I got her started on antibiotics right away because she had her qualifying meet for gymnastics on Saturday--to qualify for the State meet. I was hoping that keeping her home and giving her the antibiotics, she'd be fine by the meet at 5 pm on Saturday. Unfortunately, she was worse on Saturday. She had to miss the meet, which means she didn't get to even qualify for the state meet.

The following Monday was Halloween.  She was still not 100% but I figured, she's missing gymnastics tonight anyway, why not let  her trick-or-treat. She hadn't had a fever since Saturday.  So she went out with her brothers to trick-or-treat.  Nathan decided to be a fire fighter for actual trick-or-treating.  I do not recall why Caleb was dressed up.

Ward Trunk-or-Treat and Fourth Grade Track Meet

We had the ward trunk-or treat.  Eliza had musical rehearsal (she made the Addams Family musical at school).  Travis and Caleb evaded the camera.  Jonah was an In-N-Out store manager.  Nathan was a construction worker.  Annmarie was a cheerleader.

Annmarie had her fourth grade track meet.  She placed in her event, the 200.  It was a beautiful day for the track meet also.

Fall Ball, Orchestra Concert, First Term Elementary Awards

Nathan is enjoying playing baseball again this fall with the Red Sox.  He has moved up from t-ball to coach pitch and it's a little harder.

Eliza had her fall orchestra concert.  I think I enjoy orchestra concerts more than band or choir.  I hope she sticks with it.

Nathan earned a writing award for the first term of first grade.  Annmarie got on the Principal's Honor Roll for getting 95 and higher in every subject.

Professional Gymnastics Pictures Jonah

Jonah's gym, Golden Grip, had a picture day and we were able to get some great photos of Jonah at gymnastics.  I did not get a team picture though.  I love these pictures!

First Time Voter

Caleb turned eighteen and then early voting opened.  There were several openings for school board on the ballot.  Caleb got to come with me to vote because the seniors were not required at school due to PSAT testing for the other grades.  He had some online stuff to do and that was it.  So we went down to Collin College to vote.  Stacie Smith was there campaigning for school board, so we got a picture with her.  She is in our stake and has been on the school board for a few years.

Gymnastics District Championships

While Nana was in town, Annmarie had a meet that Nana got to see. She scored 9 and above on everything but bars. I did not keep track of what she placed. She got 8.825 on bars, 9.15 on beam, 9.2 on floor, 9.0 on vault, 36.175 All Around.  These were her best scores this season so far.

Fall Break

When Corey and I returned from Mexico, fall break was in full swing. Nana had come to stay with the kids during the time we were in Mexico. We had a fun day at the park playing kickball again with the Fowles side.  On Friday of that week, Wylie High and Wylie East faced each other in football for the first time in like eight years.  Wylie East won.  I didn't go to the game because before I knew the fall football schedule, I had purchased a ticket to go the Reba concert with my friend Julie Taylor.

Mexico Trip

Corey earned a 100% trip with In-N-Out and the destination: Mexico! Namely, Cozumel and Cancun. The trip was amazing. We stayed for a few days on Cozumel and then took a boat across the channel to Playa del Carmen, where we stayed for two nights, then we stayed the rest of the time in a huge suite, like an individual home basically with our own private pool in Mayakoba, just south of Cancun. We got to see ancient ruins (sadly, Chichen Itza was too far of a drive to get to without advanced planning, which we didn't do), swim with dolphins, eat lots of delicious food, spend time on the beach, and we even went to church. We got to use some Spanish also. What a great trip!
