Friends and Baseball

Eliza and I went and had ice cream with my friend and her daughter.  My friend Christina is my ministering sister and her daughter Sarah is friends with Eliza.  So we had a girls night.

We used our POGO pass again, this time to see a minor league baseball game, the Frisco Roughriders.  It really was fun getting out and doing something!  The best was that in the summer on Friday night games, they do fireworks after the games, so we got to go to that game and see the fireworks.  That was nice because we didn't really see an official firework show on the 4th of July.

Six Flags!

This year, we had four kids who were able to get into Six Flags free by reading 600 minutes.  I paid for Westley to join us and we left Caleb at home babysitting Nathan.  We had a great day, although it was really hot.  I love that they have the opportunity to do this.  I wish that the ages of my kids wasn't so spread out or we would consider getting season passes but with such young ones, I don't see that we would make it often enough to make it worth it.  So we'll settle for the free tickets from reading for the younger ones.  They don't get to do it anymore after they get into junior high school though.

Hawaiian Falls and Cousin Visit

We bought POGO passes in June to use for one year. That includes entrance into a variety of venues around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The first thing we did with the POGO pass was use our one visit to Hawaiian Falls. Corey did not come with us. But we had a great day!

Then our cousin Hannah came to town to stay with Adam and Eve for a week. We were able to see her a couple of times and play some games. The kids enjoyed getting to know their cousin a little better.

Summer Trip, King Reunion

I'm not sure why I can't find all the other pictures I took.  We had our King Family Reunion in Arizona this summer.  On the first day, we had dinner and a family meeting with talent show at Toby and Jenny's church building.  On Sunday, we went swimming at Toby and Jenny's community pool.  On Monday morning, we went to a bouncy house place.

Summer Trip, Arizona

After being in Utah for a week, we drove down to Arizona for the 4th of July.  When we arrived, we went swimming right away.  We enjoyed Grandpa's Breakfast Swimaroo, something that has become a tradition, where we go swimming very early in the morning one day and eat breakfast burritos out on the patio.  On the 4th of July, we went to Grandpa and Grandma's ward breakfast which featured a show with a continental soldier.  We watched fireworks out on the street since neighbors of theirs were shooting them off.

Summer Trip, More Utah

We also got together with as many of the Fellows extended family as possible. Aunt Amy and Matt and Sarah hosted at their HOA pool. Andy and Lori Farnsworth, Ed and Jenna Farnsworth, Mark and Beth Reeves, Matt and Sarah Carpenter, and Amy and Larry were there, plus us and John and Allison.

Summer Trip, Second Part of the Journey in Utah

In Provo, we went to BYU campus and had lunch at Brick Oven.  We also went to John's work at  NuSkin and watched the women's cup soccer games and had free ice cream.  We walked around the Provo City Center Temple outside the grounds because the grounds were closed.  We also went up to Salt Lake and visited Uncle Jordan's grave and the older kids did baptisms in the Salt Lake Temple, last chance before it closes for four years this December.  Katie, Travis and Eliza traipsed all over their neighborhood in Provo and we went swimming a few times at the pool.  We also went to dinner one night at In-N-Out, the one in Orem, so that Bastien, a French exchange student staying with Allison's sister, could experience In-N-Out.  We met up with my cousin Beth and her kids at a splash park in Provo and we went to the BYU Bean Museum (similar to the Heard Museum).

We also drove up to Riverton to visit our friends the Howells.
