Baseball with the Royals
When I went to sign Nathan up for baseball this spring, I discovered to my dismay that his coaches and several of his teammates had moved on from the Wylie League to a different league and his team was disbanded. It was a big disappointment for us that they had moved on and not invited him. But he took it in stride and joined a new team. It's a different team for sure, but he's had the opportunity to pitch a few times. He really misses catching though, as he hasn't been catching as much with this new team as he did with his old team. It's been a rough season, but he still loves to play and is improving all the time.

Wrestling Banquet and A Honor Roll
While Eliza and I were in Utah and Idaho, Jonah had his wrestling banquet. Corey was on a work trip the same week, so sadly he wasn't able to go to the banquet either. Jonah was given the award for the Rookie of the Year. He had a fantastic year in wrestling and we look forward to great things to come for him.
That Friday, I went to Nathan's award ceremony for the third term of school. He made it back to the A Honor Roll, rather than AB, and was happy about that, although he was disappointed that he was one 94 shy of getting in the Principal's club. Overall, he has done very well academically in elementary school and hopefully he can continue to do well that way through the rest of school.

Jonah Wrestling
Jonah started wrestling this year as a freshman. Last year when Travis was a senior, he took Jonah along with him to the wrestling practices over the Christmas holidays, so he had a little bit of knowledge of it. Being his small size, he was able to wrestle varsity for most of the season. He got one pin and one other solid win. But the other wins he had were forfeits. Even though they were forfeits, they counted toward wins and he got enough wins to letter in wrestling as a freshman!

Jonah Wrestling
Jonah wrestled varsity and at his first varsity match, a dual hosted by our school, he got a pin! He had a harder time with his other matches, but nowhere to go but up! I took a picture of the score board because it was exciting to see "King" up there, especially when he's only a freshman!

Wylie Baseball
Jonah and Nathan both did baseball again this season. Jonah played on the Panthers, the same team as last year, and Nathan on the Rangers, his fourth season with them. The Panthers did a little better this season than last year and they won a couple games. Jonah really got better at baseball and played second base most of the season.
Nathan's team had a really great season, only losing a couple of games, and Nathan improved on his skills of playing catcher.

Wrestling Banquet
As the end of the school year looms, Travis has more and more lasts. This was his final wrestling banquet, which at least one of us has attended every year with him. They did special recognition of the seniors. It was a nice banquet. Hard to believe high school sports is over for Travis.

Pole Vaulting and Future Freshman
Jonah decided to try pole vaulting this year in track. Turns out, he's pretty decent at it, thanks to all the gymnastics. He's still learning, but I think that if he keeps at it in high school, he could do pretty well.
He also had his field trip to Wylie High School for all incoming freshman. It's crazy that he'll be a freshman next year. He even got in the selfie that Mr. Alexander, the principal took!

Wrestling Senior Night
Travis had Senior Night for wrestling. I was able to join him for the processional as Corey wouldn't be home in time from where he was doing a store check. We are proud of Travis' grit for sticking with it all four years even through injuries and disappointments. This night was another one of those big lasts. I'm grateful for the good coaches he's had at this school, especially in wrestling.
