Little Shop of Horrors

Eliza was one of the Ronettes in the high school's rendition of "Little Shop of Horrors".  They had quite a few setbacks with the show being postponed due to the weather and then the opening night show cancelled because of the weather.  But, they did end up performing it on Friday night and twice on Saturday.  

Eliza did a phenomenal job.  She was so fun to watch and looked so grown-up.  She has so much talent.  And that color of yellow looked so fantastic on her!  We enjoyed the show a lot and were so proud of her for her accomplishment.  I am sad that this part of theatre is over for her (musicals).  I hope she continues to participate in community theatre wherever she ends up.

 

November Miscellaneous

Nathan's baseball season went a lot later than it was supposed to, due to all the postponing of games due to bad weather. His last game on Saturday he got one of the game balls. He did a great job this season as a catcher and he also played third base, first base, outfield, and pitcher. He is really improving as a player and we are looking forward to next season.

I had to take a photo of Jonah and the orange juice spill because it was like the third spill of the morning and fifth of the week.  

Nathan  hit his foot really hard on the stairs at the bottom and broke his toe.  He had to be off his feet and wear a special shoe for about a week.  Good thing it was after baseball season!

Eliza had her senior direct play.  She directed a scene of the play and we enjoyed getting to see the show.  She did a great job!
 

 

Matilda the Musical

Eliza was in yet another musical at Wylie High School.  This time, she was in the musical Matilda.  She was in the ensemble and did not have a speaking part or any solos.  There was a lot less required of her this year.  I did take the family to see it and we enjoyed it.  She did well with her part.  Great job, Eliza!

2024 Theatre Banquet

Eliza got to attend the theatre banquet even though she did not take a theatre class this year because she was in the Beauty and the Beast musical. One thing she loves about the banquet is that they announce the musical for the next year there. The musical for next year will be Matilda.

 

More Beauty and the Beast

This musical was just such a good show. The costumes, the theatrics, the set, the acting, the singing, the dancing. All of it was phenomenal. Travis and I went to the Sunday matinee performance as well. We just couldn't resist seeing it one more time. Besides that, I had put my name in a drawing to win Sunday tickets and actually won. The students made the set, the costumes, and the music played was done by a pit orchestra that played in another room with the music being played live into the auditorium. It was just such a fantastic experience.

 

Beauty and the Beast Opening Night

Eliza was cast as one Gaston's groupies in Wylie High School's musical of Beauty and the Beast. She has been rehearsing since October. I took Travis to opening night. Annmarie had gymnastics so Corey was picking her up and we were going as a family on Saturday, except Travis who was supposed to be at a wrestling tournament. So that's why we went together that night. They did such an amazing job.  The performances were selling out quickly, so they added a Sunday matinee.  They had five performances total, plus two that they did during the school day.  Even Nozomi got to see it with her second grade class.
