Cutie Pie Baby Girl

Annmarie running around an empty classroom at church during Sacrament Meeting in her pretty purple dress.  She is such a busy girl and church is really hard with her.  We spend a lot of time in empty classrooms and walking the halls.  When she goes to nursery in September, it will be a great day, for her and us!

Jonah's First Buzz Cut

We were giving the older boys their summer hair cuts and Jonah demanded to have one as well. It was the first time for us to buzz his hair. All of his previous hair cuts have been trims so we could comb his hair and make it "handsome". Jonah likes to have handsome hair for church. One time when we were walking into church on a particularly windy day and his hair was blowing, he yelled out "The wind is messing up my handsome!"

So we decided to go through with it, since he wanted it. I had to take pictures because I just know that his red hair will never be the same after this buzz cut. It already looks less red to me since we trimmed it.

He looks a lot different to me, a lot older.  Still such a cutie though!

Princess Festival 2014

Last year we didn't attend the Princess Festival. It got too expensive.

This year, they changed the venue. For the past several years, it has been at Thanksgiving Point in the Children's Discovery Gardens. I'm sure that upped the price.  This year, they moved it to various city parks throughout the state and had several date to choose between, depending on which park you wanted to go to.  We chose West Jordan City Park, since that was the closest to us.

First, we met the Twelve Dancing Princesses and Eliza learned a dance with them.  Then we watched their performance.

Then we did some crafts.

And walked in a princess parade.

All in all, it was a good experience.  I think these things would be more fun if we got a group together to go, but I can't ever find anyone who wants to do it with me.  Next year, Annmarie will be two and we'll probably bring her along.

A Day in Provo

On Friday the 20th, our water in our neighborhood was being shut down for some city repairs to a water main, so we decided to take off that day and head to Provo to spend the day there.

We first went to the Cougareat in the Wilkinson Center to the creamery branch there and got some ice cream. 

The kids thought the Cosmo stairs in the WILK were fun and wanted a picture.

We walked over to the Monte L. Bean Science Museum from campus and stopped for a picture with Y Mountain in the background.

After spending time on campus, we went over to nearby Kiwanis Park and played some baseball, had lunch, and played on the playground.  It was a fun day.  We ended it with a trip to the swimming pool back in Riverton before heading home.

Anniversary--Thirteen Years!

Another year!  Thirteen years. We went out for dinner.  Corey brought home some flowers.  I babysat the baby of one of his associates all day while he was working.  It was not the most fantastic anniversary, but it's nice to add another year.  Hopefully year fourteen will be on the up, since this past year hasn't been so great. 

Margrethe's Birthday

Margrethe turned eighteen while here in America.  Unfortunately, on her actual birthday, she was in Las Vegas with friends, but we celebrated with her when she got back, a couple of days before she left to go back to Norway.  The kids helped me design her cake.  They wanted it to be half the American flag and half the Norwegian flag.  We decided to divide the cake into quarters and do the half and half by making quarters that were kitty corner from each other the two parts of one half.  It turned out pretty fun.

Margrethe left on Tuesday, the 17th.  We really enjoyed her time with us and felt like she was part of our family.  I hope the experience was just as positive for her and we didn't scare her away too much from kids and family.

Last Day of School

We are so sad to be leaving Silver Crest. The kids had their last day of school, which was their last day at Silver Crest. Next year, Westley will be in middle school at Providence Hall (charter school) and the others will be at Foothills. We have loved Silver Crest. We tried to buy a house twice in the Silver Crest boundaries but it just didn't work out. It could have, but it would have been really, really hard financially. We may try again in the future, but we'll have to wait and see how Foothills is. I do feel very sad about leaving the school though. It's been a great run and I'm sad that it's over.

Future BYU Students

Before Margrethe went home to Norway, I took her and the little ones down to BYU campus to walk around and check things out. Eliza and Jonah really seemed to enjoy it and they enjoyed taking pictures all over campus.

Rumpus in the Rainforest

Caleb got to be an explorer in his third grade program "Rumpus in the Rainforest".  Westley did the same program when he was in third grade but unfortunately I missed it because I was very sick that day.  I really enjoyed the program; it was very cute.  And Caleb did a great job on his part.  He was quite excited about it.  Last year I missed his second grade program because I simply didn't know about it.  I still feel bad that I missed it, and he was very persistent in reminding me about this program.  I just love my boys!
