Bowling Fun
I utilized the Kids Bowl Free that you can sign up for every summer and took the kids bowling. This is Westley's last summer being able to do this, so hopefully we can make it a few more times. He'll still be able to come next year, but we'll have to pay the adult membership for it. It's a fun indoor activity to beat the summer heat here.

Nathan and Jonah
One thing I love about summer is having the kids take turns cooking. One meal that was chosen was salmon. Turns out that it was a hit with Nathan, which is great because he's become the ultimate picky eater lately.
I put these pants on Nathan thinking they looked a little strange. Turns out, they weren't Nathan's pants, but Jonah's shorts!
Jonah's turn to cook: he made mini pizzas for lunch. This was a favorite for a lot of the kids. I like it because it's easy and fairly cheap.

Summer Begins with a Bang!
Well, it begins with stormy weather, anyway. We have a forecast of thunderstorms for the next few days, so there won't be much swimming these first few days of summer. Pretty cool looking sky, though.

School's Out For Summer!
This is how we celebrate the ending of a school year! We go swimming. I love having a neighborhood pool that we can go to. I also love how we are often the only ones there. We love to go swimming and will do it as much as possible throughout the summer, hopefully every day. Yay for school being out! That year went by so fast!
Fourth Grade Graduation and Last Day of School
Eliza had her fourth grade graduation. Here in our school district, the schools are K-4 is elementary school, then they go to 5th and 6th grade at intermediate school, then 7th and 8th is junior high and 9-12 is high school. So this was Eliza's last year in elementary school.
Jonah had a fantastic year in first grade with his teacher Mrs. Boyd. She will be teaching second grade next year, so it would be fun for him to get her again. I may not love a lot about living here, but the schools are really great!

Baby Shower Play Group
I went to a playgroup/baby shower for a sister in my ward. They had the wading pool out and I had arrived with my kids in their swimsuits. But nobody was going outside, so I changed them out of their swimsuits. Of course, later on, after I did that, the kids all decided to go outside. Annmarie was smart enough to change into her swimsuit herself, but Nathan, oh Nathan. He was fully immersed with a poopy diaper and all. Uck! They sure had fun though.

Heavy Head
This little guy is always falling and bumping his head and face. I feel like 90% of the time he has a big goose egg somewhere on his head. This time, he fell and scraped his nose on the pavement as well. It's always something!

Piano Recital 2018
I hosted another piano recital this year. These are my students. Only one student wasn't able to be there due to a baseball game at the same time. I will continue teaching piano for another year.

Girls Night!
The boys all went on the Father/Sons campout, so Eliza, Annmarie and I had a girls night. I had a gift card for Chili's, so we went out to dinner. Then we went home and painted each other's nails while watching "Aquamarine". It was a great night.

Splash Park Playgroup
A few years ago, I joined an LDS playgroup that meets every Friday morning. Unfortunately, Friday mornings are my time for grocery shopping, which I like to get done before lunch and naps, so I rarely make it to the playgroup. But, this playgroup was at the splash park. It's been warming up and the kids have been wanting to get wet, so I thought I'd take Nathan and Annmarie. It was also perfectly timed with Corey's dentist appointment. He dropped us off at the Allen splash park and went up to his dentist appointment and then picked us up on the way back. It was fun to get out of the house with these little ones for a change. With my busy preschool and piano teaching schedule, we don't go out do much anymore.

Westley is FIFTEEN!
Yikes! I can't believe he is fifteen years old! He is working on getting his learner's permit for driving. He loves to play his trumpet and loves music. I can't believe the different a year makes in how old he looks! This picture is of him on his birthday last year:
Happy birthday Westley!

Jonah Spider-man
Jonah has taken to climbing the walls lately. He is our own Spider-man. I think it's time to consider putting him in gymnastics!

Summer Kickoff Party
Our orthodontist's office does a summer kickoff party every year. We haven't gone any of the other years, mostly because we are usually busy with something else. But this time, we weren't doing anything and I thought it would be fun to get out of the house and do something. The party had free food and different activities. The favorite activity was the climbing wall. Caleb, Travis, Jonah, and Eliza all participated in the climbing wall. Westley didn't really want to be there, so he mostly sat off to the side. Although, he did help out with corralling the younger kids, so that was nice. I'm sad that his interest in just doing things with the family is waning, but it was to be expected at this age.
