Last Bit of Summer

School may have started in August, but it is still summer here.  Annmarie's teammate Genevieve Smith had her annual end-of-summer swim party.  Jonah and Nathan tagged along this time.  And Nathan lost his two front teeth.  What was more fun was seeing that Nozomi was missing the same teeth!  This age (seven turning eight) is such a great age!

Fourth of July

We went swimming for the Fourth of July at Austin and Paige's neighborhood pool.  I only brought Nathan and Annmarie.  Jonah did not want to come because he thought he'd be the oldest cousin there; he wasn't.  Eliza and Caleb worked.  Travis was at FSY. Adam and Eve's family came but Aaron and Kaori did not.

That night, we went to see fireworks at Breckenridge Park.  We went to the school near Breckenridge and set up on the field there.  Grandpa and Grandma were with us as well as Austin and Paige.

Birthday Pool Party

The kids get a birthday party when they are in kindergarten (since they finally have their own friends) and then again when they turn eight. Annmarie didn't get one when she turned eight because of the pandemic and just things that made it not possible for her to have one, so we postponed it until she turned nine. Then, they turned six and nine in winter, but they wanted a swim party, so we postponed their birthday party until the summer. They each invited about three to four friends and we went to our neighborhood pool. It was simple and fun and they had a great time.

Last Week of Summer

The Cooper Junior High Cheerleaders helped out with registration and walking the schedule for 7th and 8th grade. Eliza is the cutest cheerleader! We went to the Heard Museum one final time before starting school.  Of course, we also had to go swimming.  The older kids aren't interested in the Heard Museum or swimming anymore though.  Sadness.  Kaori and I also took Eliza and Maggie to this place in Rockwall to learn how to apply makeup.

Lacey's Birthday

Austin and Paige's youngest, Lacey, turned one on September 4th so they had a family swim party to get together and celebrate her birthday. Adam and Eve's family was able to come and I came with all the kids who were able to come. Corey was working and came later and Westley had to leave for work during the party. But it was great to get everyone together and spend that time. It was probably our last swimming party of the summer too, since we just are so busy and the water is getting colder now. And, coincidentally, Adam and Eve's youngest, Claire, turned two earlier in the week (September 1st), so we brought her a present as well. Adam and Eve are busy moving to a new house so we were esepecially glad they could come.

A Farewell Swim Party

Maggie and Kaori are heading back to Japan soon, so we had a final family swim party to say goodbye. Too bad that Travis couldn't swim with us because of his broken shoulder.  Maggie has done amazingly well with her back surgery and recovery.  I truly impressed with the determination and grit of this young lady.  I'm glad we were able to spend time with Kaori and Maggie while they were in Texas for her surgery.  They will be missed, but will hopefully be moving back to Texas soon.  It's possible they could be back by the end of 2020.  Fingers crossed!
