Nathan turned seven years old. It's hard to believe that the youngest is seven. We made him an Avengers cake and celebrated on the 28th since there is no 29th this year. Mom got to eat lunch with him at school. It was Hawaiian shirt day, so he wore a Hawaiian shirt to school

Almost a Wrap
Annmarie just loves Shania Twain and she loves country music. She was playing around while dancing to "Any Man of Mine" so I took a photo.
I dropped my favorite mug that says "Life's too short not to live it as a Texan. I got this mug when I was moving from Texas to Utah sophomore year of high school from my friend Debbie Neil. Well, I posted about it online and in the next few weeks received two of the exact same mugs anonymously. Someone must have seen it and decided to find it online and buy it for me. Isn't that sweet? I glued back together what I could and display it on my fireplace now. And now I have two mugs to drink my hot chocolate from.
Other Happenings in February
February was pretty busy with all the gymnastics meets. The Relief Society hosted a dance for the adults in the ward, so we went to that and had a great time. Nathan got really into watching Wylie High School play basketball and was really into one player in particular, Jackson Hinckley, who is in our ward. Jackson was in the Wylie News, so we clipped the picture and hung it on the wall for Nathan. He also took a basketball class at Wylie Rec. Eliza got her permit. And Travis had some wrestling tournaments as well. What a busy month!

Townsend Cup in Pearland Texas
We got to go down to Pearland outside of Houston for another meet for Jonah. He did so much better at this meet, clinching 1st place All Around with his goal of 60 points! He got 1st on high bar (9.7), 2nd on Floor (10.8--highest score on floor now), 5th on pommel (10.3), 2nd on rings (10.7--highest on rings), 5th on vault (9.3), and 2nd on P-bar (9.2). It was a great meet. Next up is the state championship.

Liukin Invitational
Another weekend, another gymnastics meet for Jonah. This was the Liukin Invitational in Frisco. Valeri Liukin is the father of Nastia Liukin, both are famous gymnasts and they have a gym in Texas and they host an invitatoinal every year. Jonah had a bit of a rough meet this time, but he still placed 2nd on rings (10.5--highest rings so far). We also got some good pro shots of him up on the rings.

Horton Challenge
Jonah competed in another big meet in Fort Worth called the Horton Challenge. He did very well, placing 3rd on rings (10.2), 2nd on P-bar (10.1), 2nd on Floor (10.7--his highest on floor so far), and 2nd All Around (58.9). He is getting closer to his goal of getting a 60 All Around. All the boys who placed in the top 3 in their age groups received a championship ring. That was pretty exciting for Jonah. Maxxton Carr on his team also earned the ring.

LDS Winter Formal
Caleb and Travis went to LDS Winter Formal. Caleb took Alora Loveless from our ward. They've gotten to be good friends because they are taking classes through BYU-Idaho online together and studying together. Travis took his girlfriend Gizelle Sosa.

Daddy Daughter Dance
The City of Murphy had a Daddy-Daughter dance (apparently they have it every year, but this year was the first it was back since the pandemic). Corey took Eliza to one when she was younger and we lived in Utah, so Annmarie got to go with him to one this time. There were others from our ward there and they had a really good time. Annmarie sure had a lot of fun.

February Freeze 2023
It seems that it's becoming a regular thing that the first week of February we have a freeze that shuts everything down. This time, Corey had Caleb and Travis help him at his store since many of his other employees didn't feel they could safely get to work. That was fun for them to work together. School was canceled only for a few days this time instead of a whole week, but we have to make it up by adding minutes to the school day.
The kids made me breakfast in bed one of the mornings. And we took a picture of the cool icicles that formed on the patio.
