School Program, Wax Musem, and Winter Freeze

Annmarie had her fourth grade program. She also had her fourth grade wax museum. She was Sybil Ludington, who was the female Paul Revere. At the end of the month, we had another freeze come through that shut down roads and closed schools.  And this is a picture of Caleb ordering from Alora, his friend who got a job working for Corey.

 

Harry Potter World

Long ago, we promised the kids that if they read all of the Harry Potter books, we'd take them to Harry Potter world.  Caleb finished them right away and so did Travis and Eliza.  Then Jonah has been working on them for the last few years.  Because Caleb is graduating high school, we figured it was time to give him the trip and take the others too.  So after Jonah's meet in Florida, I flew with the three other kids to meet them there.  We had to do it that way because of the Addams Family musical, which, unfortunately, Corey did not get to see because he was in Florida with Jonah at the meet.  We were only able to spend one day in the park, so we did as much as we could in that day and it was a lot of fun.

Now we have to do it again when Annmarie and Nathan finish the books.  Westley never read them, so I guess he just misses out.

The Addams Family

Eliza performed in the Addams Family musical put on by Wylie High School. She was an ancestor and played the Victorian girl. The musical was very well done and we are very proud of her and the hard work she put into it.

 

Whitlow Invitational

Jonah got to fly with Corey to Florida to compete in the Whitlow Invitational, a huge competition for men's gymnastics. They flew to Orlando and he competed the next morning.  This was a meet in conjunction with Disneyworld and if they'd had more time, he could have gone for a day.  But instead they went to the temple to do baptisms for the dead, which was Jonah's first time.  He got to go to the Orlando Temple.  His meet was pretty good, placing 2nd on p-bars (9.95) and 4th All Around (57.5).

 

Houston National Invitiational

Jonah had his second competition. This one was down in Houston and was a huge meet. We drove down and stayed in a hotel with me and all the other kids. Corey did not come. It was at the convention center in Houston and they had the whole place sectioned off for all these meets happening at the same time. I had never been to such a meet. Annmarie's were all small and within one gymnastics club. Jonah did well, but not as well as his first meet. His team placed 3rd.  He himself placed2nd on high bar (10.4), 3rd on floor (10.3) and 7th on P-bars (9.3).  His all around was 58.2 and he placed 4th for that.

 

First Week of January

The first week of January already! 2023 is here! 

Jonah was ordained to a deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood.  It was cool that both Caleb and Travis were able to participate in that ordination. 

A picture of Willy is included just because.  We don't take enough pictures of him and when he's gone, we won't have any to remember him by.  So hopefully we can get more this year.

Annmarie did well at the Gator Groove for second term.  She got on the A Honor Roll, only a few points shy of Principal's Club. She also got an award in L'Camp for PE.
