Off to the Provo MTC

Caleb flew up to Utah on the 29th. My cousin Andy Farnsworth's son,Caleb Farnsworth, got  his mission call shortly after Caleb and he is going to Salem Oregon.  His MTC report date was the same day, so Andy and Lori (and Caleb) met Caleb at the airport and kept him at their house from Tuesday into Wednesday and then drove him to the MTC.  He was able to also meet up with John and Allison and see them before reporting.  I thought that was pretty neat.  And, Ben Goode, from our ward, is in the MTC also, and Caleb bumped into him.  Another fun fact is that Caleb Farnsworth's MTC companion was on the same flight as Caleb so that is the picture with Caleb Farnsworth and the other fellow at the airport.  And of course, Andy's family treated Caleb to one more meal at In-N-Out before he is deprived for two years.

Caleb's Mission Begins

Caleb started Home MTC on August 21st. He had his farewell on the 20th and then we had an open house for friends and family to say goodbye to him on the 27th.  His friend Dylan from Draper, Cooper and Wylie High (until the pandemic) came out to support him.  Some of the people there were Aaron's family, Paige and the kids, Grandparents, and other members of the ward came (the Russells, the Lovelesses, the Barches, the Shumards, the Gilberts, and many of the young men from his priets' quorum).

Last Bit of Summer

School may have started in August, but it is still summer here.  Annmarie's teammate Genevieve Smith had her annual end-of-summer swim party.  Jonah and Nathan tagged along this time.  And Nathan lost his two front teeth.  What was more fun was seeing that Nozomi was missing the same teeth!  This age (seven turning eight) is such a great age!

School Begins

We are here already--the start of a new school year. That summer flew by faster than any other summer ever. Westley is on his mission, Caleb is leaving for his mission soon.  Travis started his junior year and Eliza her sophomore year.  Jonah started junior high, seventh grade.  Annmarie moved to a new school, Draper, fifth grade.  And Nathan is all by himself at Groves in second grade.  This is the first time since we moved here in 2014 that we have only one child at Groves.  We have four schools again this year after a one year break from Cooper Junior High.

Nathan got Mrs. Simmons, who was Travis' second grade teacher. It will be nice to have her again.  She was great for Travis, so hopefully Nathan will thrive in her class as well.

Travis started football again.  They had summer practice and this summer was so much hotter than normal.  They had a day after practice where they cooled off in some water slides.  Travis is on j.v. again this year and I'm sure he'll have a good season.

Violin, Strawberries and Sleepy Sunday

I took a picture of Eliza's violin lesson so I could draw her teacher Audrey, who is one of my good friends. I think the picture turned out rather nicely and I was able to document her violin lessons. I enjoy going because I learn a lot about violin from the lessons too. I also made chocolate covered strawberries just because I had a lot of strawberries. One of my most favorite indulgences. And I had to take a picture of Corey "watching" Come Follow Me insights with Taylor and Tyler.  He always insists that he is not sleeping.
