Wedding Reception

The reception was supposed to be outdoors at Adam and Eve's house in their huge front yard. I spent time the previous week helping clean up the yard so it would look nice. But, Mother Nature had other plans, which involved rain, so the reception had to be moved to indoors. The Heath Stake Center was chosen as the location because that is where Alejandra went to church as a youth. Her family has since moved to Utah. But they were able to get everything moved over and set up and it still looked amazing. The reception was so much fun, with many Mexican traditions done. It was a great day!

Wedding Day--Temple First!

On Friday May 2nd, Westley and Alejandra were sealed in the Dallas Texas temple.  The kids did not go to school and we all went down to the temple.  Travis and Eliza were able to wait with the kids in the waiting room so all the adults could go to the sealing.  The sealing was done in English but all the other words were translated into Spanish, which was cool.

While Mom Was in Chicago...

While I was in Chicago with my orchestra having a great time, Corey held down the fort.  Annmarie had a choir concert that was held at the Cross Church.  It was combined with the Cooper JH choirs.

On December 17th, Westley proposed to Alejandra and she said YES!  So now we will have a daughter-in-law.  Hooray!

Jonah had his band elementary school tours with Wind Ensemble.  He got to play with the band at Groves and I pulled photos from the Groves Facebook page.

And last but not least, Nathan had a school field trip.  Stephanie Brown, a neighbor down the street who has a daughter the same age, Charlotte, chaperoned and sent me photos.

Random November

At the beginning of November, I was able to join a workshop by Brandon Dorman, a children's illustrator and author, on how to get into publishing.  Brandon used to be in our ward and Jason Otts had organized the workshop.  I took Eliza with me and we enjoyed being able to learn some fun things about it.

My cousin Beth in Utah went to Chick-Fil-A and was surprised to see Westley there. He had taken a second job after moving up to Utah, living with John and Allison, to do the BYU Flex program to get into BYU-Provo.  He'd been working at the Orem In-N-Out as well.  She sent me this picture when she realized it was him.

Travis had his final season game for varsity football.  We played in our stadium against Wylie East.  They were home and we were visitor.  Unfortunately we lost.  The game had actually been postponed a day due to severe weather the day of the game.  It was threatening rain the whole time and rather cold.  We still had fun watching Travis play.

Annmarie had her first solo contest for choir and did well.  Corey and I went to the wedding of two of his former associates/shift managers, Jonathan and Ashley.  This was right after he announced he was leaving his store for QFC so a lot of people who were there that were from his store were asking a lot of questions about it all.

Travis worked hard this month in culinary.  With Thanksgiving, the baking side of culinary does pie orders and he had to make tons of apple pies.

I took a random photo of Willy.  I realized we don't have very many pictures of him.

And Nathan had his Thanksgiving lunch at school, which I went to.  He is our last in elementary school and those elementary years are coming to a close. This was the second to last one, as elementary ends after fourth grade here.

And August Comes to an End...

We finished out August with Annmarie's coach, Coach Makayla, leaving Precision for another coaching job that paid more money.  It was a rough day for Annmarie, as she really loved her coach.  She is now competing Level 7, which is optionals, and to lose her coach right when she is starting to learn her routines has been difficult.

And Westley performed again at the Opry.  We seem to be taking over that place with Annmarie, Eliza, Corey and Westley all having performed there in the last couple of months.

The Mustangs at Las Colinas

We had nothing going on one day during the school day, so Westley, Corey and I decided to hang out.  We went to see the Mustangs of Las Colinas and then get some lunch.  Westley is leaving soon for Utah, so it was nice to spend some extra time with him.  He now has a girlfriend, Alejandra de la Cruz.  They've been spending time this summer with a group of friends and have decided to date seriously.
