The Homecoming Mum

In Texas, we have Homecoming Mums.  The tradition is that the boy gives the girl a mum and the girl gives the guy a garter that he wears on his arm.  When I was in high school here, you didn't have a mum if you didn't have a date to Homecoming.  But now, the girls will just get a mum for themselves.  I don't know if the boys care enough to do a garter if they don't have a date. Since Eliza and Travis both have dates, they were able to their mum and garter exchange.
