Nathan got to attend kindergarten roundup! I am so glad they did this in person. Last year they made the upcoming kindergartners register online. Nathan got to go in the school and meet some kindergarten teachers and look in some kindergarten classrooms. He is so ready for kindergarten!

Nathan, Easter Clothes, Future College Kid
Nathan was being cute meditating so I took a picture. I think he may have gotten it from a TV show.
We got to wear the new Easter skirts/blouses and ties to church the Sunday after Easter because Easter Sunday was General Conference.
Last year when covid hit and school was moved to virtual, the graduating seniors missed a lot of their end-of-year celebrations. One thing that some parents organized was "adopt-a-Senior" where you could sign up and give gifts to a graduating senior. We signed up and gave a gift basket to Maryke Ek from our ward. Well, the parents liked this tradition, so they decided to do it again even though we have been able to go to in-person school all year. Westley was adopted by two different families and this is the gift basket he got from one of them.

Swimming with Cousins
Our district had school out the Friday before Easter and the Monday after Easter. Since it was nice weather, Aaron and Kaori heated up their pool and we had swimming and a cookout. It was a great way to finish off the weekend. I think I failed to mention that they moved back over Christmas 2020. So they are in Wylie now instead of Japan.

Easter 2021
Easter Sunday was also General Conference, which is always nice. I was able to work on the girls' dresses (actually skirts this year) through the conference even though it was Easter, so they did not get them on Easter. We did dye Easter eggs the day before. And in the morning, we have the tradition of making Resurrection Rolls, which are made with crescent rolls, a large marshmallow, butter, and cinnamon sugar. They are yummy and teach about the resurrection. The pictures of Annmarie and Nathan are while they are waiting to go downstairs Easter morning.

Annmarie's Baptism
We were able to have people come to the baptism. We could only have a limited number of people and our family basically took up all the spots. However, Adam and Eve ended up not being able to attend. We got permission to show the baptism over zoom to those who couldn't be in attendance. Adam and Eve watched it virtually with their family. Nana, Uncle Toby, and Beth who are all far away also got to watch, as well as Leah, who is currently serving a mission in Arizona. It was a beautiful day! Annmarie's second grade teacher, Ms. Evans, even came. And I'm glad Aaron could set up the tech because I wouldn't have even known where to begin with that.

In Person Concert!!
What a year it's been with Covid restrictions. All of the kids' concerts have been virtual. They record them at school and then we watch the recording later. But, we were so fortunate that restrictions have lifted enough to have an in-person concert. This was the pre-UIL competition concert that the band usually holds. It was at Wylie East and they actually allowed parents to watch. Listening to live music in person is SO much better than watching it virtually online. I was happy about the concert but after being there, I was reminded so much of how great live and in person events are. I hope to see more of this to come very soon.

It's Great to be EIGHT!
Aunt Kaori came and took some pictures of Annmarie for her baptism announcement that she will be handing out to teachers at school and gymnastics and sending in the mail. These were our favorite pictures.
