Panthers Football

Here are some shots this month of Travis playing football.  His team, sadly, hasn't won a single game, and they haven't scored much either, only a couple times all season.  It's been a rough season for them.  But he's loved playing and made some friends while doing it.  It's too bad that everyone else on the team (and our cheer squad, for that matter) will be going to Burnett Junior High and then Wylie East High School, so if he ever plays with these boys again, it will be on opposing teams.  But he is glad for this experience.  Next fall, he'll be playing at the junior high.

Halloween and Final Football Game

It was supposed to rain on Halloween this year ,so we planned ahead and went trick-or-treating at the local retirement home instead.  I made Annmarie's princess dress the day before; it was a fun project.  My brother Austin's wife met us there and came along with her two little ones.  Travis was a football player, Eliza spider-girl, Jonah Captain America, Annmarie a princess, and Nathan Ironman.  Autumn was a witch and Brock with a airplane pilot, complete with his airplane.

We had our last game at the Founders Field.  So many games got canceled this season due to rain and rescheduled to horrible times.  But, I'm glad we participated and it was fun to coach the cheerleading.  Our team never won a game, but they had fun playing anyway.

October Random

Jonah likes to read on the ledge by the stairs.

We went to Westley's marching band competition.  I had no idea how crowded such a competition would be.  It was really cool though and I'm going to try and make it to a few more next year.  I brought Caleb along for support, plus he will be in marching band next year. Annmarie and Benjamin came as well.

Panthers Homecoming

Here in Texas, even the pee-wee league has a Homecoming.  Ours was canceled due to rain, so we just rescheduled for the next game that was on our home field.  However, the other team was the designated home team and it was their homecoming too, so it was a bit strange.  The girls all had mums and the football players and cheerleaders had a procession at halftime where the players escorted the cheerleaders on the field.  It was weird, in my opinion, but at least Eliza got to be escorted by Travis.  I didn't get a picture of that though.

A Week in the Life...

Caleb dressed up as the 80s for decades day at school.  I helped him peg his pants and had him tuck in his T-shirt and roll up the T-shirt sleeves.
Our whole family went in for flu shots.  Always a scene when the whole King clan is around.

Jonah and Annmarie had a dress up as a book character day at school.  Jonah was the main character from Benotripia and Annmarie was Pinkalicious.

Jonah made the All A Honor Roll for his first term in 2nd grade.

Ice Skating Excursion

Eliza  made a friend at the Junior Miss pageant in the summer 2017.  Her name is Andie and she lives in McKinney, which isn't too far from us.  We've been trying to organize a get-together since the pageant.  We finally were able to get together one weekend in October.  We met up at the Allen ice rink, which was somewhere in the middle, to ice skate during the afternoon.  I skated too.  It was fun to see the girls click like they never missed a beat even though it had been more than a year since they saw each other.

Peter and the Starcatcher

Our exchange student Benjamin was in the school play, Peter and the Starcatcher, which is a Peter Pan story.  He played the part of Schmee, who ends up being Captain Hook's first mate in Peter Pan.  It's sort of a background story for Peter Pan.
