Day of Bowling

While Travis was at FSY and Eliza at choir camp, I took the other kids bowling. We still sign up for "Kids Bowl Free" because even going only 2-4 times all summer still makes it worth it. It's technically no longer free, as they charge $5/person to register and then the shoe rental is about that as well.  But it's still pretty cheap.

Fourth of July

We went swimming for the Fourth of July at Austin and Paige's neighborhood pool.  I only brought Nathan and Annmarie.  Jonah did not want to come because he thought he'd be the oldest cousin there; he wasn't.  Eliza and Caleb worked.  Travis was at FSY. Adam and Eve's family came but Aaron and Kaori did not.

That night, we went to see fireworks at Breckenridge Park.  We went to the school near Breckenridge and set up on the field there.  Grandpa and Grandma were with us as well as Austin and Paige.

Whoops!

So July started out fun with Travis falling through the attic floor. Thankfully he was okay. I posted about it on Facebook trying to find someone who could fix it and the Goodes in our wardhad just finished doing some remodeling and had the equipment and supplies to fix it so they graciously came over and fixed it for us.

Nauvoo Stake Youth Conference

The older kids got to go to Nauvoo for stake youth conference. Caleb did not go because he was already eighteen and an elder.  Travis almost didn't go because of summer school (he took a science class so he would have room in his schedule for choir, football, and culinary).  Last minute we were able to add him to the trip.  He was with President Monroe's group, which I was happy to hear.  Eliza was with President Lamarche's group, so that was also cool.  They had some great experiences and even were there during a tornado!

Deacon's Camp

While we were in Hawaii, Jonah got to go on "Deacon's camp". The ward and stake did not do camps this year because of Nauvoo, but our ward decided to do a short one for the deacons and younger girls who weren't invited to Nauvoo. They went to Jellystone park in North Texas and had a great time. These are pictures that the leaders texted us while we were in Hawaii.

Hawaii 2023 Club 1095

This year we got to go on another 1095 trip with In-N-Out to Hawaii. We went to the island of Kauai. It was so beautiful there. They call it the Garden Island.  We went to church with some of the others who were there, Jeff and Karen. We went on a helicopter tour of the island and also ATVing.  Corey and I also drove around the island on a self-tour.  I sure do love Hawaii.

Visit From Andy and Lori

Andy and Lori Farnsworth and their kids still at home drove out to Texas to visit this summer. It was the hottest week, literally. They took in Six Flags and Buc-ee's and JFK stuff downtown. It was fun having them here. We also went swimming at Aaron and Kaori's as you can see. I love that they made the trip out to Texas. Not many of the cousins from my family have been out here. Cameron and Zach got along great with Jonah and Nathan.  Eliza and Grace seemed to get along.  Annmarie and Sally had fun.  Sally also does gymnastics and was able to visit for a day with Annmarie at practice. It really was fun having them here.
