Preschool Fun

This year I am continuing to try and build a home preschool.  I only have Annmarie and her cousin Elliott in the class so far, but we are having fun.  I have themes built around the letters and also around learning the continents and countries.  We started with North America and zoned in on the United States, our state Texas, and our local communities of Wylie and Sachse.  It's been a fun time, and a little bit of a challenge, since in the past I've usually only taught kids who are four or five years old,  not three. 

Cute, Cute Nathan

This little chunk is seriously adorable.  I could squeeze his little fat thighs and kiss his little fat cheeks all day long.  He has just brought so much joy into our home and into my heart.  It was hard accepting that I was having another baby but what a blessing he has been!  He is now seven months old!

Carrie Underwood Concert

I surprised Eliza with tickets to see Carrie Underwood in Dallas.  She has been a fan since she was about four years old so when I saw that Carrie Underwood would be in Dallas, I bought tickets, way back in May.  She had no idea where we were going and was very excited when she saw what it was.  We enjoyed the concert but ended up leaving a little early because she was overwhelmed by the lights and the noise and we were both pretty tired.  It was a great Mommy-daughter date.

Last Day of Swimming for the Summer

We had a really warm fall and our pool stayed open until October, but we didn't go swimming after the third week of September because we were just busy.  The water by then was pretty cold also.

A Visit from Margrethe

I am a little mad at myself for not taking more pictures when Margrethe visited us here in Texas.  She brought along her boyfriend and her mom, and it was fun to meet them.  They spent some time hanging out with us and some time exploring Dallas and Austin a little bit.  I'm glad we got to see them.  The only pictures I took were when we ate some ice cream at Braum's. 

BYU vs. Utah

Ever since University of Utah joined the PAC-12, they don't play BYU every year anymore. This year they did, and we were fortunate to be able to catch the game on one of the main networks out here in Texas. So we all wore our BYU shirts and went to lunch together and then later, during the game, we ate some fun treats that I put together from our BYU cookbook that we have. We made Ute cream puffs, cougar cupcakes,"Y" Mountain Trail Mix, and Sparkle Punch, all recipes from the cookbook.

Cheer Clinic WHS Pirates

I signed Eliza up for a cheer clinic fundraiser put on by the Wylie High School cheerleaders. She had an all day clinic and then, a few weeks later, got to cheer at a high school football game at the home stadium. She really had a lot of fun and will probably now want to do cheerleading.
