Another Home Game
We had another home football game and this time I tried to get pictures of the boys in their uniforms. Unfortunately, the lighting was not working in my favor. Hopefully, I can try to catch them both again and get a better picture.

Crazy Hair Day
This year I'm trying harder to be involved with what the kids are doing at school so when the first crazy hair day came up, I helped them make their hair crazy. We used mermaid chalk in Jonah's hair to color it crazy and we spiked it (as much as I could anyway) also. For Annmarie's, we put a bunch of bows in her hair all over. I'm not much more creative than that with crazy hair, I'm afraid.

More Fun Stuff for September
Wednesday the 11th was the first Wylie Way Day of the year, and the kids were supposed to dress up like cowboys. The most I could do was some cowboy boots and a vest for Jonah and cowboy boots and a Texas shirt with hair in braids for Annmarie.
We had our first varsity home game. I will never get tired of going to high school football games. I especially enjoy having two boys in the band this year.
The kids played volleyball for church. Most of the time, Travis and Eliza were the only ones representing from our family, but Westley and Caleb both made it to at least one game. Westley is mostly just too busy and Caleb has no interest, but we keep encouraging him to branch out and try new things.

First Week of September
Nathan is now tall enough to get his own drink from the fridge door. He loves his independence!
Travis had his first football game. He plays outside receiver and I don't know what else. Guess I'm not as well-rehearsed on football positions as I thought I was.
Jonah and Annmarie now ride their bikes to school after we worked with Annmarie to get her riding her bike independently. I love that they can now do this! I'd much rather have them on bikes than on foot--they get home so much faster and I feel it's safer.
Jonah wanted an ice cream cone, so I obliged. I like having ice cream and cones on hand for special treats.

Beginning of the School Year Busy-ness
Eliza and Annmarie did the annual WHS cheerleading clinic. It was Eliza's last year and I actually made her do it this one last time. I think she still had fun.
Westley got his driver's license. He's official. We even added him to the insurance! Yikes!
I took this because dinners together get rare during the fall football season. Plus with the kids getting older, this is a moment I want to treasure.
I took this picture of Travis with his friends at Meet the Pirate Night.
Annmarie left us a hate note on the bottom of our toilet lid in the master bathroom. She wrote it in ballpoint pen. It says, "Have a good life and don't! I hate you! by Annmarie". The thing is, neither of us has any idea why she was upset. We had a good laugh over it though. Since it's written in ballpoint pen, I'm not sure how long it will be there.
First Football game! Thursday night though. We have quite a few Thursday games this year. I don't like having varsity games on Thursdays. The boys won't get home until really late (like 11:30 pm or later) and still have seminary the next morning. We'll see. Maybe this year we'll let them miss seminary the morning after a varsity game. But I love going to the games to support my marching band boys and I enjoy watching high school football!

First Day of School 2019-2020 School Year!
These are the big kids. Travis is in 7th grade and starting at a new school this year, Cooper Junior High. Westley is in 11th grade. Caleb is in 9th grade and starting at a new school, Wylie High School, and Eliza is in 6th grade.
Jonah and Annmarie left for school before I remembered to take a picture of them, so I got this picture when they got home. Jonah is in 3rd grade and Annmarie is in 1st grade.

End of Summer
Well, that summer just flew by so fast! After July was over, we only had two weeks of August before school started again. The older boys had marching band camp. Caleb is not thrilled about marching band, but we want him to keep doing band so he has to do marching band. On the other hand, Westley really loves marching band and worked hard to make competition band (now called Varsity Band). He made it and had extra practices because of that. He'll have a busy schedule during the fall with school and seminary, marching band, and work.
Eliza had a bout with a massive stomach bug. She was throwing up so much and in so much pain that I was worried she might have appendicitis so I took her to the emergency room. I really don't like doing that, but I felt I had no choice in case it was appendicitis. Of course, it wasn't and she was just really sick. She's always kind of been like that when she starts throwing up--she just can't stop. I remember taking her to the ER in Riverton when she was three or four years old because she couldn't stop throwing up then either and them giving her the same thing to stop it--Zofran. It helped and she felt much better by the next day.
Nathan fell asleep on the couch in his Bumblebee costume. I love this age and am sad that it will soon be ending as he grows up into middle childhood.
I got a Groupon for Eliza to try a ballroom dancing class. She really loved it and I wish we had the time and money for her to pursue it. But the studio is quite far away in Richardson (about 35 minutes) and the only available time slots were on Wednesday nights, which is when she has mutual.
And of course we went swimming a lot the last few weeks of summer. We love to swim and hate it when summer ends and we don't have time for it and then the pool closes for the winter.
And here I got a great shot of the kids being silly and climbing all over Travis.
