Getting to Know You 2010

I know that we have all done these before but the questions are just a bit different, and although most people get annoyed with them, I think they are so much fun!

I "tag" anyone who follows this blog and wants to do this because I love reading about the people I love and the things they like... Here is what you are supposed to do, change all the answers so that they apply to you. Then post to your blog or Facebook page. Have fun!

1. What is your occupation right now?
Homemaker. I know, it's not p.c. to call it that anymore, but that's what I do and that's what I am. I like saying that better than a stay-at-home mom because that makes me feel like I'm kind of a lazy bum. But the "maker" in homemaker implies that I'm doing something, which I am, and it keeps me pretty dang busy.

2. What color are your socks right now?
White. Always white. Why bother with fun socks? Nobody ever really sees them!

3. What are you listening to right now?
Westley is reading his chapter book out loud to Corey before Corey leaves for work.

4. What was the last thing that you ate?
chocolate chip cookies

5.Can you drive a stick shift?
Yes, but it's been a long time since I had to, so I'm sure I'm quite rusty.

6. Last person you spoke to on the phone?
Corey when he was on his way home from work last night.

7. Do you like the person who sent this to you?
Yes.

8. How old are you today?
32

9. What is your favorite sport to watch on TV?
gymnastics

10. What is your favorite drink?
hot chocolate (right now), chocolate milk in the summer

no, never, just highlights occasionally

Spaceballs with Corey and Caleb during naptime today

My kids' birthdays--so right now, I have four favorite days

15. How do you vent anger?
Yelling and crying

Art supplies--crayons, pencils, paper, scissors, glue, etc.

Spring, Summer and Fall--but Fall is probably my favorite because I always loved the start of school

So, I was tagged a few weeks ago, and I'm catching up to that finally. I also have 2-1/2 weeks worth of fun stuff to blog about, and if you read my letters weekly (or as close to that as possible) you'll know that there are quite a few pictures to post and a little bit of catching up to do. I will get to that later. Might be much later, but I'm a busy person, what can I say? That's why it's rather lame that I'm wasting my time doing this, but I'm doing it anyway...

8 Things I did Yesterday

1. I woke up in Holladay in my mom's cousin's house yesterday morning, the last day of a short stint to Utah for the funeral services of my maternal grandfather.

2. I slept for 2 hours in the car while Corey drove.

3. I ate lunch at Cove Fort after taking the tour.

4. I listened to three movies play while I drove.

5. I battled a really bad headache all day long--caused by stress and lack of sleep.

6. I had McDonald's for dinner.

7. I saw my dog for the first time in just over two weeks.

8. I slept in my bed for the first time in just over two weeks.

1) I have to have lotion, vaseline and water by my bed at night. I'm always dry, lips, feet, hands, and mouth, and am constantly rehydrating throughout the night.
2) I really have to be desperate to truly want fast food. It's really not something I like at all. I'd much prefer to have a good home-cooked meal with all the food groups. My stomach doesn't usually hurt after that kind of meal.
3) I secretly like to shop, as long as I don't feel like I'm spending very much money. Since I learned how to bargain shop better, it's become a hobby. Yet I still don't really have the money to do it.
4) I am a very clean person. It's second nature. I go around picking up after the kids all day and don't even realize I'm doing it. I just like things to be clean. And I like to clean, to me it's very gratifying to make something that was dirty before clean. Sometimes when I go into people's homes that aren't so clean, I just wish I had my stuff with me so I could really make their house sparkle.
5) I am always falling asleep. That's because I have four kids under the age of six and am always tired. If I sit down on the couch for a breather, I fall asleep, even if I don't want to. I can't help myself.
6) I love country music. It speaks to my soul. I listen to it every time I'm in the car (the only time I really ever listen to music). I'm sure my kids will grow up hating it, and my husband tolerates it, but I love it.

2008 Edition of Getting To Know Your Friends

I saw this on my friend Joy's blog and thought I'd share some fun facts:

What time did you get up this morning? I finally forced myself to get up and deal with the kids at about 6:30. They'd been up since 5:30, but Eliza was a night owl last night, so I really was awake since about 4 am.
Diamonds or pearls? I like diamonds better than pearls, but I'm not really into gems. Just the one on my ring finger!
Last movie you saw in the theater? Enchanted (with Adam and Eve on Christmas Day!)
What is your favorite TV show right now? Lost and Supernanny are all I watch lately, plus the Today Show in the morning when the kids aren't watching PBS.
What do you usually have for breakfast? Cereal--with 4 kids under 5, it's quick and easy.
What is your middle name? I don't have one.
What foods do you dislike? I don't like foods that are too spicy--so a lot of foreign foods are on my dislike list.
What is your favorite CD at the moment? Amy Grant Greatest Hits is what I like, but usually we listen to what the boys like--an oldies CD called Rock Around the Clock and the Beach Boys Sounds of Summer.
What kind of car do you drive? 2000 Ford Windstar
Favorite sandwich? Ham, bacon and swiss melt. Yummy!
What is your favorite thing to wear? Anything comfortable--jeans mostly and T-shirts, but dressing up makes me feel prettier.
If you could go anywhere in the world for a vacation, where would you go? Hawaii, I think. I've never been outside the continental U.S., except one trip to Mexico in college for an Intensive Spanish program I did.
What color is your bathroom? Tan and white (that is, the bathroom we are using at my parents' house).
Favorite brand of clothing? I don't have a favorite brand, just whatever fits, but I did find that I do like Tommy Hilfiger classic boot cut jeans.
Where would you retire? Somewhere without snow.
Most memorable birthday? 16th, and it's not necessarily a good memory.
Favorite sport to watch? Gymnastics and football, kind of weird combination, I know.
