Family Reunion Part I

We left on June 27th to drive to Colorado by way of Albuquerque. We met up with Adam and Eve at some point and ended up caravanning with them through New Mexico into Colorado.  We stopped for lunch with them before getting to our destination near Dolores Colorado in a cabin that Adam had found that could fit all forty-two of us.  Leah was not there because she is on her mission in Arizona.  Peter had gotten married earlier in May to Emily and they came.  We all stayed in one cabin.  Each day we had a plan but it rained a lot so we didn't get to do everything we planned.  It was still a good time.

When we got there, Eve and I went to Cortez to get groceries for the meals and snacks.

Cartoon App

I got this fun app on my phone for a little while that you could use to make cartoons from your photos. So we turned our whole family into cartoons. Kind of fun.It didn't always get the eye color right though.

New Licensed Driver!

Caleb got his license!  The timing is great, considering Westley leaves at the end of the summer for college.  Now we have four drivers in the house.  We will need another vehicle soon!

20 Years!

For our 20th anniversary on June 21st, we went to a Hilton hotel in Dallas for the  night and went to Medieval Times.  It wasn't really the plan to do Medieval Times.  I actually found the hotel first and then looked for places to eat nearby and that was one of the places, so I thought, why not?  Turned out we had a really good time.  We hope to take the kids back sometime.

20 Years!  It has really flown by.  7 kids, one is an adult who just graduated high school.  We've lived in five states (CA, ID, AZ, UT, TX), and it's been a journey.

Police Camp for Eliza

Eliza signed up for the police camp that Wylie ISD holds in the summer for kids who are in 7th going into 8th grade.  She has had an interesting and crime scene investigation, so this was a fun experience for her.

Westley also did this camp.  Travis would have, were it not for COVID.  In fact, they had invited the 8th graders going into 9th to it also because they didn't get to do it last summer, but he decided not to do it.   It's a good camp and the only cost is the cost of the shirts.

Goofing Around

During the first week of summer, we discovered bike riding on trails near our house. This trail is near the public library. It's a couple miles just to the library also.  We rode bikes a few times, but it was often too hot to really do it.

Paige had an appointment for her pregnancy and didn't have a car, so I drove her to her appointment.  She kept Lacey with her.  While she was in her appointment, which was in Rockwall, I took my kids to a park and to the Rockwall harbor shops to have a treat.

High Adventure

The boys got to have somewhat of a high adventure.  They didn't get anything last summer due to COVID.  The trip this summer was changed many times due to COVID policies and rain in Oklahoma.  They ended up going to a waterfall up in Oklahoma and then spending a day ziplining at the Heard Museum.  Not exactly the camping they were hoping for, but they got to do something.

There are several boys in the ward that Travis hangs out with a lot: Cooper, Spencer, and Ajak are a few.

Westley hung out with Hyrum and Hunter a lot.

Caleb spent a lot of time with Corey, since he got to chaperone.
