Nathan the Baker

Nathan helped bake cookies for school lunch desserts.  He used his preschool apron and hat that I bought last year for preschool cooking activities.  What a cutie!

First Gymnastics Meet

Annmarie had her first gymnastics meet at Level 3. Her meet was at Rockwall High School that apparently has a gymnastics program. It was pretty cool to watch her compete and she did pretty well. Looking forward to the rest of the season to see how she does!

Westley Leaves for College!

We finally were able to figure out how paying for college would work for Westley, so he packed up and headed up to Utah to go to Snow College.  I got a picture with everyone who was home when he left.  He had to get some major repairs done on his truck to make it to Utah and then he went on his own.  I booked him some hotels along the way and he checked in a few times a day so I knew he was getting along. When he got there, my cousin Andy helped him move in to his apartment.  Such an exciting time!

2016 to 2021 Five Year Difference

We took this picture in front of Adam and Eve's Sachse house in 2016.  We decided to re-create it.  They don't live in that house anymore, so we had our neighbor across the street take the picture in front of our house.  It's so fun to see how everyone has grown!

Meet the Pirates and an Art Show

We had Meet the Pirate Night and band family night. Jonah got to see what marching with the band would be like. I love marching band season (and football season)! My friend Matt Grant from when I was growing up here had artwork in an art show down in Dallas, so I dragged my family to go see his art and see him. It was nice to reconnect. And he served his mission with uncle Toby, so fun little connection there. All the art behind us is his work.  He's a very good artist.

New School Year

School has started again. The elementary kids had a meet-the-teacher a few days before school started. Annmarie has Ms. Graber for third grade and Nathan is in kindergarten. For Kindergarten at Groves, they don't assign teachers until after the first few days. They are assigned a room and then each child is evaluated for the best teacher for them. Nathan started in Ms. Turner's room. He ended up in Mrs. Hetherington's class. I did not get a picture of Mrs. Hetherington.

Jonah started at Draper Intermediate in 5th grade and Eliza is in 8th grade at Cooper Junior High.  They ride the same bus.

Caleb and Travis are both at Wylie High School, Travis in 9th and Caleb in 11th.  Caleb will be driving to school this year.

Last Week of Summer

The Cooper Junior High Cheerleaders helped out with registration and walking the schedule for 7th and 8th grade. Eliza is the cutest cheerleader! We went to the Heard Museum one final time before starting school.  Of course, we also had to go swimming.  The older kids aren't interested in the Heard Museum or swimming anymore though.  Sadness.  Kaori and I also took Eliza and Maggie to this place in Rockwall to learn how to apply makeup.
