Over the weekend, I took the kids who were home and wanting to go to the SkyZone Trampoline Park. The park was in Irving, so a little bit of a drive, but we were able to get in free with our POGO passes. We had a really great time.
Jonah had to do a report on a country of origin (somewhere that his ancestors came from). We have ancestors from Denmark, so he did his report on Denmark. We also contacted Benjamin, our exchange student from last year, and asked him to send us some Danish treats that Jonah could share. We were so excited when the treats arrived in the mail the DAY OF the event! Jonah did a great job on his project.
On Tuesday in the early afternoon, the school called me to inform me that Jonah and another student had collided in PE and Jonah had chipped a tooth. So I checked him out of school and took him to the dentist to get it fixed. I had to cancel my afternoon piano lessons for it and now he can't bite into anything hard ever again because it's a permanent tooth. Westley had done this once before as well, when we lived in Utah. now I have two kids with permanent teeth that are made up of composite filling material.
And again, I come around the corner to the front room to find this--Annmarie reading her school book to Nathan. It's great practice for her and it's great for him to be read to.

Halloween 2019
We decided to break from the normal traditions and go to the Boo on Ballard this year for Halloween. The kids also trick-or-treated around the neighborhood on Halloween night. I don't think we'll be going to Boo on Ballard again. It's kind of the main street for the city of Wylie and they set up all these booths that you can trick-or-treat at. But it was so packed, there was barely even room to walk. We did run into our friends, the Shumards, from church. They had all dressed up as characters from Snow White, even the parents! Annmarie and I were both Snow White, so we took a picture together with the mom who was the Evil Queen and the youngest daughter who was also Snow White (and is Annmarie's friend at both church and school).
Jonah and Nathan were Ninja Turtles. Eliza was Little Red Riding Hood, and I made her skirt.

Caleb 9th grade
Eliza 6th grade
Jonah 3rd grade
Travis 7th grade
Westley 11th grade
Band Pictures and Braces Off!
These are the band pictures of Westley for freshman, sophomore and now junior year. He has really matured a lot these last three years. He looks so grown up now!
And Caleb got his braces off! Yay! So far, Travis doesn't need them and we're waiting to see if and when Eliza will need another round. Wouldn't it be great if we had a little break from braces for a couple of years?

Reading Buddies
It was bedtime and the kids were awfully quiet. So I went upstairs to check on them and found Annmarie reading a story to Nathan. It was so sweet.
Parades, Football Games, Birthdays and Field Trips
Caleb's birthday was on the 16th, but I didn't take any pictures. Hmmm. Not sure why I didn't. But on the weekend, I took Travis to a J.J. Pearce football game. It was their only home game that didn't conflict with a Wylie home game, and I thought it would be fun to go to a game at the old Eagle-Mustang stadium. So we went.
Our school had homecoming the following week. We went to the Homecoming Parade to watch Westley and Caleb march.
Caleb got a set of In-N-Out cookie cutters for his birthday from Nana. He used them right away and made some great In-N-Out sugar cookies.
And Nathan went on his first preschool field trip. We went to the pumpkin patch. It was a really fun day with the preschoolers and Nathan had a great time.

Choir Concert, First Grade Program and Award Ceremony
Eliza had her first choir concert at Draper. There are a lot of kids in choir with her from church. Also, pictured here, is her friend Maggie from orchestra last year. They both decided to do choir this year.
Annmarie had her first grade program. It was an eventful night because Willy got out of the house right as we were trying to leave for the program. So Corey went out and followed him until catching him while the rest of us (who were home) went to the school for the program. We were still feeling a little stressed out when we got to the program.
Both Annmarie and Jonah earned awards at school from their first term of school. I hope they can keep up the great work!
